Review by Alan 'The Dukester' Hillsden:
The drums sound huge, the guitars sound incredibly dirty and the riffs pour, but its the vocalists who stand out: self styled gangster metallers Stonemunki are, yes, a rap rock band, but one much more like Ice T's Body Count than Limp Bizkit, and its a refreshing new lease of life for it. Its striking when you see this band fronted by a rapper and a goth, and luckily the music backs that ideal up. Rapper G spits his words sounding like he means each one while singer Matt carries a tune that had a little grit and he's the full blown metal singer. They're not compromising at all, they're doing what they want and the dynamic works. The band meanwhile bring their old school metal influences down in tempo to make old school hip hop through a metal styled playback. Very cool. But see them to believe them.
